About MVIM

The Mountain View High School Instrumental Music program represents one of the premiere band and orchestra programs in the Pacific Northwest. With three concert bands, two orchestras, two jazz bands, a percussion ensemble, two pep bands and an active chamber music program, Mountain View achieves excellence in all musical endeavors.

 

Mountain View has performed at state and international conventions including 2024 Washington State Music Educators Convention and the 2018 National Festival in Indianapolis. In 2018 Mountain View Band received the Blue Ribbon Award of Excellence, an award given to the top 3 band programs in the country. 

 

The Jazz Band has performed with Grammy award winning musicians Jeff Coffin, Wayne Bergeron, Bob Reynolds and has won multiple sweepstakes awards at festivals around the region. The percussion ensemble is consistently represented at state competitions and is devoted to commissioning new music for the genre. Mountain View has sent over 230 students to the state solo and ensemble contest as regional champions in their divisions in the last 13 years.
